A Grant Vortex Eco External oil boiler has recently been installed at a rural property near Rye, East Sussex, reliably supplying the home’s heating while also alleviating space inside which the household has greatly welcomed.
Based in Rye, on the Marshes, a semi-detached three-bedroom property recently had its heating system updated. The house, which was built in the late 1930s with the original purpose of providing accommodation for local MOD personnel, had previously been heated by an old oil boiler which required replacing. The householder turned to their local Grant G1 Installer and is now enjoying all the benefits that installing a new, efficient oil boiler can deliver.
The installing engineer was M B Barden and Son Heating and Plumbing who are based near Ashford. Founded in 1983, the company is a father and son partnership with Mick originally forming the business and his son, Tristam, joining in 1994. M B Barden have been G1 installers since 2014 and, as members of Grant UK’s installer network, are able to activate extended guarantees on the Vortex and VortexBlue oil boilers they install.
With this installation, Mick and Tristam identified the Grant Vortex Eco External 15/21kW oil boiler as the most suitable solution to meet this property’s heating needs. “This boiler model was ideal,” writes Tristam, “because the customer wanted to have their new boiler sited outside the property. Their previous boiler had caused issues with an oil smell indoors and they also wanted to gain space in the dining room where the old boiler had been located. Consequently, to overcome these issues and because of the quality of the product, we advised the customer to fit a Vortex Eco External boiler.”
When space is at premium, locating a boiler outside can be the ideal solution because this option relieves space within the indoor living space of a property. This is one of the reasons why Grant’s Vortex external boiler ranges are incredibly popular. For this installation, a model from the External Eco range was selected which is not only incredibly efficient but also competitively priced.
Achieving efficiencies of up to 93.3% (SAP 2009), the Vortex Eco External boilers have a number of unique features which ensure its durability outdoors including a high quality powder coated paint finish and built-in boiler frost protection. Available in outputs ranging from 15kW up to 35kW and supplied with a factory-fitted multi-directional flue, the Eco External oil boilers are well liked by engineers.
“I found the product easy to install,” continues Tristam. “The knock-outs allow for good entry options for the pipework, the boiler is well insulated, and making the pipework connections is straightforward and easy. In addition, the rear casing has ample room for the Grant Mag One that was also fitted, a magnetic filter which helps protect the whole system by removing debris.”
The Vortex Eco External 15/21kW is just one of the Grant oil boilers which was awarded a Which? Best Buy in 2017, an award which recognises the quality and reliability that householders associate with the range. Mick and Tristam’s customer in Rye is similarly happy with their new Vortex boilers. “The customer is pleased with the finish of the product and was very impressed with how quiet the boiler is when operating,” comments Tristam. “They are also happy to have a 5 year guarantee on the boiler, added peace of mind that comes with the appliance when installed by a G1 installer like ourselves.”
Although this installation was completed in the hot heat of this year’s summer, the householder can now be assured that their new Grant heating system will keep their home warm and cosy when the colder winter months set in. They can also enjoy the additional space that has been freed up within their living room. Install a Grant oil boiler and benefit in more ways than one!
