Grant Quick Recovery Cylinders
Grant’s Quick Recovery (QR) cylinders combine high quality build, efficient operation and versatile use, making them the ideal hot water storage solution for oil boilers, air source heat pumps and solar thermal systems.
The QR cylinders, which are suitable for use as either open-vented or unvented cylinders, are Grant’s most efficient generation of cylinder models, boasting fast heat-up times and improved standing heat losses. The range is adaptable with each model being suitable for multiple applications, making specification very straightforward.

- Models range in size from 150 litres up to 300 litres with single coil, twin coil, slimline and pre-plumbed variants available, including pre-plumbed models with the Aerona Smart Controller factory-fitted
- All cylinder connections are 22mm compression. Pre-plumbed cylinders have 28mm compression on pipe connections.
- Single and twin coil cylinders are 550mm diameter. Slimline versions are 478mm diameter.
- No anode required and labelled tappings and connections
- Supplied with unvented kit as standard including expansion vessel, inlet manifold, tundish, 2-port motorised valve and dual thermostat plus factory-fitted 3kW immersion heater
- Fast recovery stainless steel coils, factory fitted temperature and pressure relief valve and quality external finish with organic Estectic Tex paint
- Pre-Plumbed models have factory-fitted pre-wired controls including the Aerona Smart Controller or Grant EP001 wiring centre, a digital dual thermostat & immersion heat timer, factory-fitted cold water inlet pipework, potable water expansion vessel for the cylinder, factory-fitted primary system pipework including a built-in filling loop, system pressure gauge, automatic system bypass, a 2-port zone valve for hot water & two 2-port zone valves for two heating zones
- Optional plinth available as an accessory for use with any of the cylinders in the QR range (excluding the integrated cabinet cylinder) - Part code: MB-24. An optional cylinder stand is also available for use with the 50ltr Internal Volumiser – Part code: MB-50.

Case Studies
Universal compatibility
QR cylinders are suitable for installation with both traditional and renewable heating systems so they can be fitted as part of a package with either a Vortex oil boiler, an Aerona³ air source heat pump or a Grant Solar Thermal System. When an installation involves more than one heat source, such as a heat pump and solar thermal system, both systems can be combined using one of the twin coil QR cylinder models.
