How do you set and change the circuit temperature using the Aerona Smart Controller?

The Aerona Smart Controller makes setting up and adjusting the settings for an Aerona³ or Aerona 290 air source heat pump system simple and straightforward. This includes setting up and adjusting the circuit temperature which can be completed with ease using the Aerona Smart Controller’s touch screen display.

Configuring a heating circuit on the Aerona Smart Controller

During the initial set-up of the Aerona Smart Controller, you will be prompted to configure the settings for the heating circuit(s) which will include configuring the circuit emitter (radiators or underfloor heating) and confirming whether the circuit is using a fixed or weather compensated flow value. To learn more about the controller set-up and the steps involved, please watch our video tutorial here.

Editing the circuit temperature

Once you have completed the controller set-up, you can edit your saved circuit temperature settings via the Smart Controller’s home screen display, provided a temperature sensor is configured for the circuit. Firstly, ensure the temperature icon is selected which is in the top left hand corner of the home screen – this will enable you to view and adjust the heating circuits.

Swipe the screen to select the circuit that you would like to change (the circuit name will be visible at the bottom of the screen) and then tap on the number in the middle of the screen. To adjust the temperature, use the ‘+’ and ‘-’ signs accordingly and when you are finished, select the back arrow towards the top left of the screen to return to the home screen. The new temperature that you have set will now be saved for the selected circuit.

The colour on the home screen will tell you how close the temperature is to the new target temperature that you have set:

  • If the background colour is green, this will mean that the optimal circuit temperature is achieved
  • If the background colour is red, this will mean that the temperature is above the target circuit temperature
  • If the background colour is blue, this will mean that the temperature is below the target circuit temperature.

Please note, the heating system will respond to the preferred temperature automatically.

Please watch the video tutorial here which provides a demonstration on how to set and adjust the circuit temperature of a Grant air source heat pump system using the Aerona Smart Controller.
