How do you set and change the hot water temperature using the Aerona Smart Controller?

Heat pump installers can use the Aerona Smart Controller to set and adjust the temperature of the domestic hot water (DHW) via the controller’s touchscreen display. This Grant heat pump controller features user-friendly navigation to make changing this setting quick and easy.

Configuring the DHW temperature on the Aerona Smart Controller

The domestic hot water functionality can be configured at any time via the Aerona Smart Controller, either by:

·        Confirming the prompt (which asks if there is a facility for DHW within the system) during the initial set-up via the Aerona Smart Controller’s in-built system configuration creator

·        Accessing the Aerona Smart Controller system settings.

To learn more about the controller set-up and the steps involved, please watch our video tutorial here. You can also refer to the Aerona Smart Heat Pump Controller manual for further set-up support.

Editing the DHW temperature on the Aerona Smart

Controller

Once you have completed the controller set-up and the domestic hot water has been enabled, you can edit your saved DHW temperature settings via the Smart Controller’s home screen display. By default, the domestic hot water cylinder will be set to 45ºC. To adjust this, firstly, you need to select the hot water icon which is located on the left hand side of the home screen – this will enable you to view and adjust the DHW temperature.

Once the hot water icon has been selected, the current hot water temperature will display in the centre of the screen. Tap on the number in the middle of the screen and then use the ‘+’ and ‘-’ signs to adjust the temperature as desired. When you are finished, press the back arrow towards the top left of the screen to return to the controller’s home screen. The new DHW temperature that you have set will now be saved.

The colour on the screen will tell you how close the DHW temperature is to the new target temperature:

·        If the background colour is green, this will mean that the optimal domestic hot water temperature is achieved

·        If the background is red, this will mean the temperature is above the target domestic hot water temperature

·        If the background is blue, this will mean the temperature is below the target domestic hot water temperature

·        If the background is grey, this will indicate that the hot water heating is currently off.

Please note, the heating system will respond to the preferred DHW temperature automatically.
