Heating System Specification Services

When installing an air source heat pump, it is essential that the system is correctly designed and sized. Low-temperature heating systems, such as a heat pump, have specific design requirements which must be met to ensure that the system can successfully meet the heating demand of the property. Grant UK’s Design and Specification Team are on hand to help heating professionals plan and specify for air source heat pump installations.

Tailored support

A range of free and chargeable services are available to support heating engineers, merchants and specifiers with their upcoming Grant air source heat pump installations. The following services are free of charge:

  • Basic Heat Loss Calculation (when customers require an in-depth room-by-room heat loss calculation)
  • System quotations (supplying customers with a list of products required for the system installation)

Chargeable services

Members of Grant UK’s in-house Design Team hold a range of qualifications to allow them to provide additional services to customers where charges apply. These include:

  • Completion and supply of SAP reports
  • Completion and supply of Energy Performance Certificates (EPC)
  • Assist with MCS certification for Grant air source heat pump installations through Grant UK’s partnership with the Heat Pump Go MCS Umbrella Scheme

If you are interested in learning more about any of the design services outlined above, please contact our Design Team.

Supply of Hot & Cold Water Schematics

For SME projects involving ten or more houses on a site and where Grant UK is supplying a package of heating products, comprising of the heat pump, cylinder and heat emitters, the Design Team can provide a complete document package which includes:

  • Supply of underfloor heating drawings
  • Supply of pipework layouts and sizing for the hot and cold water system connecting the cylinder to the bath, shower and kitchen
  • Supply of pipework layouts for the connections between the heat pump to the underfloor heating system’s manifold and, where applicable, radiators

To discuss if you have a project eligible for this design service, please speak to your local Grant UK Sales Representative.

What we need from you

When you contact our Design and Specification Team for their support, you will need to supply information about the installation project you are planning, including:

  • Details about the property (or properties) where the new heating system is being installed such as floor plans, elevations and/or sectional drawings
  • Details about your preferred product types to install so that these can be included in the specification, such as air source heat pump, hot water cylinder, controls and heat emitters.

When our Design Team receives an initial enquiry, if any information is missing or they require additional information to that outlined above, they will contact you directly to discuss your requirements in more depth.

Please note, for Underfloor Heating Design requests, please complete our online application form here.
