The Aerona Smart Controller is designed to make controlling your Grant air source heat pump system simple and straightforward. The controller’s user interface should be wall-mounted inside your home and positioned in a location which is easy for you to access. The interface features a touchscreen display where you and your heating engineer can view the core information relating to the heat pump and wider system’s operation.
There are a number of icons which display on the controller’s home screen and in the centre, you will see the current temperature of the heating circuit displayed. Beneath the current circuit temperature, the desired temperature is listed alongside the operating mode of either day or night mode. If you want to view the air temperature on different circuits, you can simply the screen left to access this information.
To help indicate whether the temperature is above, below or at the optimum temperature, a colour displays behind the temperature value – red indicates that the temperature is above, blue indicates that the temperature is below and green indicates that it is the optimum temperature.
In the top left-hand corner of the home screen is the temperature icon which allows you to access and adjust the heating circuit settings. If you select the temperature icon, you can then view a new window and swipe between the different circuits to view and set the required air temperature for each circuit.
Beneath the temperature icon on the left-hand side of the home screen is the hot water icon. By selecting this icon, you can access and adjust the hot water settings including your desired hot water temperature.
The next icon displaying on the left-hand side of the home screen is the schedule icon. By selecting this icon, you can easily set your heating and hot water to come on and turn off at the required times. This scheduler gives you greater control over your system, allowing you to set different schedules for each circuit if desired.
The final icon displaying on the left-hand side of the home screen is the settings icon. When you select this icon, options then display to access the ‘User settings’ and the ‘Service settings’. The User settings allow you to manually adjust the time and date on your touchscreen display, change your language, change the display settings and, if desired, set a parental lock. You can also connect to the WiFi and access system diagnostics via the User settings as well. The Service settings are password protected and should only be accessed by your heating engineer.
Two icons display on the right-hand side of the home screen. The top icon is for the heat pump where you can view the heat pump schematic diagram – the information displayed here will be of interest to your heating engineer as it indicates the heat pump’s operations.
Beneath the heat pump icon on the right-hand side of the home screen is the system icon. By selecting this icon, you can view the system schematic diagram which shows the design of the system with components that are running highlighted in green. Again, the technical information displayed here will be of use to your heating engineer.
Across the top of the controller’s home screen, up to four other icons may be displayed – it is important to note that these do not need to be adjusted.
The first icon, which is a green icon, will display if you are connected to the ecoNet.
The following icon will display the external temperature, if an outdoor weather sensor is connected to your system.
The icon on the far right, a red heating symbol, will display when there is a heat pump demand.
If there is a fault detected on either the heat pump or wider system, an alarm icon will display to the left of the ecoNet icon.
